Three Churches Join GARBC at 2009 Meeting

ELYRIA, Ohio—Three Baptist church plants have joined the GARBC on mission status, approved today by vote of messengers to the 2009 GARBC Conference.

“It’s a delight to welcome these churches,” John Greening said, noting the unique ethnicity of all three mission churches. “It is our desire that in the years to come we will see many more churches like these join our fellowship.”

• Eglise Evangelique Baptiste Salem (Elmont, N.Y.), Pastor Jacquelin and Murielle Saint-Preux
• Filipino-Spanish International Baptist Church (Stockton, Calif.), Pastor Jim and Carol Garcines
• Great Commission Baptist Church (Schaumburg, Ill.), Pastor Scott and Brooke Greening

In other action, the messengers to the 2009 GARBC Conference approved the following churches’ removal from the GARBC fellowship:

• Crossroad Community Church, a Baptist Organization (Shelbyville, Ind.)
• Gulf Coast Baptist Church (Pensacola, Fla.)

• Faith Baptist Church (Cheyenne, Wy.)
• Ortonville Baptist Church (Ortonville, Mich.)

Desire to be unaffiliated (reason stated) due to separation issues

• First Baptist Church (Blanchester, Ohio)

Desire to be unaffiliated (reason stated) due to doctrinal differences
