2009 GARBC Council of Eighteen Elections

ELYRIA, Ohio—Messengers to the 2009 National Conference elected new members to the Council of Eighteen during the Tuesday afternoon business session. The GARBC Council of Eighteen is a group of men elected by the voting messengers from Association churches. Council members serve a three-year term and can be re-elected to a second three-year term. The GARBC is a voluntary association of independent Baptist churches; the Council makes recommendations to the Association to further its work and to implement all actions and policies of the Association.

New members of the GARBC Council of Eighteen:

  • David Burman, Pastor-Brown Street Baptist Church (Alton, Ill.)
  • Jonathan Jenks, Pastor-Calvary Baptist Church (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.)
  • David Little, President-Baptist Church Planters (Elyria, Ohio)
  • Charles “Chuck” Pausley, Pastor-Bethany Baptist Church (Avon Park, Fla.)
  • Robert Sauser, Pastor-First Baptist Church (Creston, Iowa)
  • David Strope, Pastor-Ankeny Baptist Church (Ankeny, Iowa)
  • Gerald Webber, Pastor-Maranatha Baptist Church (Sebring, Fla.)

The following men are currently serving on the Council with time remaining on their terms:

  • Bryce “Bernie” Augsburger, Representative–IL-MO Association of Regular Baptist Churches (Washington, Ill.)

  • Jeffery “Duke” Crawford, Pastor–Emmanuel Baptist Church (Toledo, Ohio)
  • Stan Lightfoot, Pastor–Rustic Hills Baptist Church (Colorado Springs, Col.)
  • James Maxwell III, President–Faith Baptist Bible College (Ankeny, Iowa)
  • Michael Peck, Vice President–Baptist Church Planters (Elyria, Ohio)

In a meeting on Wednesday evening, June 26, the newly seated Council of Eighteen elected the following officers:
