Messengers Elect New Council Members

ANKENY, Iowa—The GARBC Council of Eighteen is a group of men elected by the voting messengers from Association churches. Council members serve a three-year term and can be re-elected to a second three-year term. The Council makes recommendations to the Association to further its work and to implement all actions and policies of the Association.
Messengers to the 2008 National Conference elected new members to the Council of Eighteen during the Wednesday afternoon business session:
- Bryce “Bernie” Augsburger, Representative– IL-MO Association of Regular Baptist Churches (Washington, Ill.)
- Jeffery “Duke” Crawford, Pastor– Calvary Baptist Church (Mount Pleasant, Iowa)
- Stan Lightfoot, Pastor– Rustic Hills Baptist Church (Colorado Springs, Col.)
- Brad Quick, Pastor– First Baptist Church (Elyria, Ohio)
- Ken Spink, Pastor– Berea Baptist Church (Berea, Ohio)
The following men are currently serving on the Council with time remaining on their terms.

- David Burman, Pastor – Brown Street Baptist Church (Alton, Ill.)

- Robert Fields, Pastor – Germantown Hills Baptist Church (Metamora, Ill.)
- Miles Grismore, Pastor – Faith Baptist Church (Mason City, Iowa)
- John Hartog III, Pastor – Faith Baptist Church (Cambridge, Iowa)
- David Little, President – Baptist Church Planters (Elyria, Ohio)
- James Maxwell III, President – Faith Baptist Bible College (Ankeny, Iowa)

In a meeting on Wednesday evening, June 25, the newly-seated Council of Eighteen elected the following officers:
Richard Van Heukelum – chair
Brad Quick – vice chair
John Hartog III – secretary
